Grace's Last Day

Today we farewelled a popular class member--Grace Brand. Grace has been in Room 1 since May.  She has been an active member of our Room 1 community.

We did some of Grace's favourite activities; Running, Art and the all time favourite--Developmental!

Farewell Rachel, Greg Jaime and Grace. We will miss you all.

Reading Tips

Hi All

I have just included in the Reading Tag the routines that I am taking daily with my reading groups. This is all part of our Professional Reading Development. You would have heard the Senior and Middle Classes talking about CSI well down in the Juniors we are doing DSI--the 5 Bits.

The children are loving it and learning skills quickly.

2nd Posting Term 2 week 5

Hi all

Due to technical difficulties I have not been able to post anything since the launch of Room 1s' blog.

The last 4 weeks have been full. Cross Country was fun.

Production: Over the last few weeks we have been getting in practise for being on stage. This has involved drama games, mimes and music sessions on beat.

In the photo above Preston and Eloise are the boat that Max [Henry] is sailing away in. An exert from the 'Wild Things'.

Sharing Time: From this week I have allocated each house one day of the week to bring along their sharing.

Mon: Red House   Tuesday: Blue House  Wednesday: Green   Thursday: Yellow  Friday: Any house.

On one side of  the workstation is the Sharing bubble where they can write their name if they have sharing.

Welcome to Room 1's first blog.

Hi every-one welcome back to Term 2. Its great to be able to communicate with you all in this format. No doubt the winter uniform will be big thing for your child! Changing will be a bit of a mission for the first week. Please make sure that all items of clothing is named.

 A big welcome to our two New Entrants and their families who will be joining our class community on the first day of this Term--Isabella Grant and Stellah Kennedy. Also a big welcome to Miss Bridget Judd who will join us from Teachers College for the first 5 weeks of Term 2. This is her first placement and I know that you will all make her feel welcome.

Training for Cross Country will still continue. We have only 2 and half weeks before the actual School Cross Country at Halswell Quarry on Tuesday May 17th.
